Hi guys,
Recently I bought Pinball Challenge deluxe for my GBA, which is nothing else than Pinball Dreams and Fantasies, all the 8 tables with a custom menu for this release, but all the music and gfx are the same, but. The 4 tables from PDreams have been refreshed with extra colours, shading, etc.! can it be hacked into the original Amiga version for a special Aga version? It really looks cool!

That's pretty sweet and I didn't know the gfx were souped up in this game.
\The Protracker replayer is pretty shit though, some of the effects are wrong, you can hear anomalies in the sound.
Anyway, it would be great to rip open the code for pinbal illussions, and make a superversion that has all Pinball tables with AFA graphics plus the vikings table
:-)
One can only dream (no pun intended
:-))

An uber pinball game with all tables (in AGA) from all 4 of the decent pinball games (plus the Viking table) would indeed be awesome.
Although I think we'll stick with AGA graphics instead of this new-fangled AFA graphics that Akira speaks of!

Bugs? what a shame. BTW the original card frozen on my DS Lite last night ... ?!!
Sound is really crap as we know how good were the Amiga in this, but at long last these tables can be played anywhere easily. But still, an AGAlized
:-) "remake" would be awesome...

The sound being crap is not because of the GBA's sound-chip tho. The GBA has some excellent sound-capabilities, which I have to say, most games only scratched the surface of. It's got some great support for voice-samples for instance.
The problem lies in, just like Akira said, the actual software.

Viddi: Those two are quite something!
:-) Very impressive graphics as well, truly pushing the GBA the way it should have been.
And of course the developers are German... ^^
Another good example of splendid use of the sound-chip is in Metroid Fusion and Zero Mission, btw.

I think Iridion levels were made same way as tunnels in Amiga Stardust.

i don't know if disassemble and reimplement the graphic is reasonably possible (i.e. it may require a lot of serious work or not) but the first thing to check it would be the resolution of the graphic. is it changed from the amiga' one?

Asociación de Fútbol Argentino.
I guess I was watching the world cup eliminatory match while typing that xD

The tables seem at the original resolution. I been having a play with this yesterday, and extensive one, and it's pretty good except for that awful protracker replayer routine. Also, the physics seem different, like if there was less gravity :P
Someone should be able to open up Pinball Illussions, include all tables and all. COnverting the old dotmatrix graphics to the new one would be difficult though. What sucks about this Gameboy Advance game is that the tables from Pinball Dreams have the old display and the new ones have the Fantasies one... They should have unified that. I loved the new colours on Dreams though. I think the PC version was like that but I can;t remember 100%

I have to disagree regarding the scoretable section. The whole line-up shows a kind of evolution through the releases. Dreams gave the 2nd generation (if we mark the classic counter style with nr1) then Fantasies showed up some basic anims with real dotmatrix-style, then Pinball Illusions gave the feeling of a true arcade feeling of the early nineties (or somewhere in that era, while finally Slamtilt gave the heaven on Earth with those arcade elements precisely directly from the matrix screen. Love that.
Honestly with this release I also have to clarify that the better was Dreams way back.
For example, when I was a kid at it's release, my Amiga was connected with a guitar amplifier. A cheap one directly from East Germany (Regent was the brand if anyone knows) and I had to sit down when first loaded the Nightmare table with really LOOOUUD sound
:-)

For me this GBA thing is like a portable Amiga. Also found James Pond 2 - Robocod for it. Just missing Lotus 2 and Superfrog ;P
Iridion would be really cool to be ported for Amiga.
If Superfrog worth to buy an Amiga, then this one worth to buy a GBA...

Iridion is what we all thought about Super Stardust...
